Josie and Adrian were admitted at Kids at Home last October 24, 2007. Josie was 11 years old then while Ian was only 1 and a half year old. The mother decided to give the care of Josie and Ian to the center because of economic difficulties and her poor health condition.
At first, Josie was very shy and did not want to mingle with other children. Josie had difficulty coping with school’s demands. But now, she shows interest and diligence in her studies. She loves to sing, do arts and crafts and cooking. She is very organized with her personal things. She helps the cleanliness in the center, can be trusted to look after the young children and assists in cooking and preparing food. Josie wants to be a medical doctor someday.
Adrian at 1 1/2 years old was diagnosed with hernia and was operated at aged 3. Also, Adrian could hardly speak. But God in His miraculous ways, Adrian was totally healed both from hernia and delayed speech. He can run, climb and his vocabularies improved a lot! He likes to play, sing Nursery Rhymes and listening to Bible stories. He became very active and articulate. He is sociable and is the entertainer especially when visitors come in the center. He is very good in reading, spelling and comprehension. He wants to be a singing doctor someday.
Kids at Home Orphanage is associated with the International Council of Adoption Board (ICAB). By God’s grace and favor, Josie and Ian were chosen to join the ICAB’s Autumn Hosting Program last September 11 to October 11, 2011 in Indiana, USA. They really enjoyed the time with the host family.
Presently, Josie is now 17 years old and Ian is 7. They already accepted the fact that they will soon be separated at the center for their adoption. They are hopeful that the prospective parents will treat them as their own children, to experience the natural home with love, care, safety and protection.
After 6 years of staying at the center… our dwellers, Josie and Ian will soon finally settle with their permanent home.
Kids at Home is a shelter for children ages 12 and below who are in need of love, care and attention.
To all our faithful partners for nine years both in prayer and gifts…. We thank you.
May our hearts serve as HOMEs for the Homeless.
And surely, God’s heart will turn to us…as Isaiah 58:6-9:
“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?
Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness[a] will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.
Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.”
